Tonight was the first Capitol Hill Chorale rehearsal of the season. And even though I didn’t leave work until 7 and didn’t eat dinner until 10:30 and won’t even be singing in the December concert — I’ll need to be home that weekend for my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary — it was good to be back. It was good to warm up and sight read music and try to hit notes that I haven’t sung in months and twist my tongue around Russian and Latin.
I realize I don’t actually need to go to rehearsals, but I’ll still try to make it to most of them anyway. After all, there’s more to music than performing it in front of an audience, right?
